My Home Life

I own a home in Eagle, on a couple of acres overlooking the Looking Glass River. My husband, of almost 7 years, and I had to do a massive renovation on the home to even be able to live in it. It was an overwhelming project starting out, even though he’s a Union Plumber and had done other construction-type work. I had only dabbled in renovation when I was much younger. I volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and assisted with disaster relief when I was a teenager. So, hanging, mudding, and sanding drywall, sanding and finishing hardwood floors, tearing off roof shingles… were certainly not in my wheelhouse. But I researched and persevered, and 7 years later, we’re still living in the home we essentially redid ourselves.

We have two beautiful children: a 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. They are the light of my life. I was a stay-at-home mom with them up until February 2024, when I finally decided to put my youngest in daycare three days a week. But up until that point, I had been managing motherhood and my real estate business simultaneously from my home. Occasionally, asking family to watch her while I went for showings or closings. I can’t say how grateful I am for their help. And as much as it breaks my heart to put her in daycare, it will allow me to better manage my time for clients and my time for family.

When we are able, we love to travel as a couple and/or as a family. My husband and I have traveled to Europe, where we got to visit Italy, Austria, Germany, and France. We enjoy couple getaways as often as we are able. We have vacationed in Cancun and Hawaii as well. As a family, we have traveled all over the US. We go to the Florida Keys annually for a week, and occasionally travel to Washington State, North Carolina, and Tennessee to visit family. Throughout the year, we love to go to Traverse City. I’m a tribal member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians, so we go on mini-vacations there and visit with family. We hope to one day be able to travel internationally as a family when the kids get older.

In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, swimming, hiking, trivia nights, playing cards, reading, writing, gardening, making art, DIY home projects, wine tasting, visiting different breweries/distilleries, learning new skills, and anything else I can find enjoyment in. I’ve gone skydiving, cliff-diving, zip-lining, spelunking, snorkeling with manta rays, horseback riding, treasure hunting, and on fishing charters. I just love to experience what life has to offer. If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that you have to make every day count while you’re still able.
